Ferno UK sends much needed equipment to SARA

Ferno UK sent an early Christmas present to the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) recently with a delivery of much needed equipment. The SARA team, based in Tewkesbury, unpacked the delivery to find it included a Rescue Pathway, Scoop Stretchers, Spine Boards, Head Immobilisers, 46 Meters of New England Rope, Medical Boxes, a Basket Stretcher and various other rescue equipment. Sarah Kneath from SARA explained: “Never in our wildest dreams did we think the donation would be so generous. If we had to purchase this equipment, it would have cost in excess of £4,000, so this is hugely generous and the crew has already started to use the equipment in training. “Donations like this make all the difference to voluntary rescue teams and the service we can provide to local people,” she added. SARA is an Inshore Rescue boat and Land Search organization covering the Severn Estuary and the surrounding area. SARA is tasked by the Coastguard, Fire, Police and Ambulance services across its operational area to provide Search and Rescue services 24/7, 365 days a year. It also works closely with other rescue agencies such as RAF Search & Rescue and operates inshore lifeboats, swift water rescue, land search and flooding support as part of its responsibilities.
